Something to groove to

With well over 100 hours of train rides in front of me in the next month I've been spending a good chunk of this evening with my laptop trying to scour my music collection for the ultimate soundtrack to my trip. Unfortunately I can't seem to come up with the right mix to keep me rockin' and rollin' all summer long. So I turn to you, fair readers, and ask for your best suggestions for the ultimate playlist.

Hey kid, take it from one who is totally in love with his ipod...a good assortment is what you need. Your gonna need some quiet, thinking , reflecting music: to the likes of a John Mayer, Norah Jones, Jack Johnson or James Taylor even. For your walking and hiking portion, your gonna need to turn it up a notch, maybe a lil Bon Jovi, Pearl Jam, U2, Stones, Beatles or Def Lepard. Of course you can never go wrong having a slwe of country music, cause that will take you from your high's, right into the lowest of your low's, but at least you'll get a good cry out of it, and rest assured, every country song isn't true, good cowboy's still are out there waiting for the right girl to come along and save him. Im sure if Grandmom replied she'd be sure to tell you to fill a section with some Josh Groban or Pavarotti or Baccehelli. And lastly, if your anything like your uncle, you really can't go too far from home without the chairman of the board, Ol' blue eyes, Frank Sinatra. He makes great company when mixed with some Dean Martin. Don't forget your theme song though, from the Partridge Family, "come on get happy". Have a great trip pal, we love you lots.

Alright, I say a lot of REO Speedwagon, AC/DC, Beatles, Aerosmith, Counting Crows, Billy Joel and then add in some new and old random songs like "Dirty Little Secret" by All-American Rejects and "Heat of the Moment" by Asia. I also enjoy lots of Guster and O.A.R., so I suggest that. Let me know if you want me to send you any stuff.
